Media Advocacy
IPS South implements high-profile, comprehensive, strategic media campaigns to promote policies that prevent harms stemming from alcohol and other drugs, including alcohol, marijuana, methamphetamine and opioids. Our campaigns connect the dots between substance use and secondary effects such as adverse childhood experiences, suicide, and sexual assault.
IPS South trains community groups, individuals and organizations to place a spotlight on inequitable community conditions that impact public health and safety and build support with elected officials for systems-based solutions. Utilizing traditional and digital communications platforms, our media events, news releases, opinion editorials and letters to the editor reach target audiences despite an ultra-competitive media landscape. As technology continually changes the ways we communicate, our media advocacy strategies and tools evolve to meet those changes.
