IPS South Bay is committed to reducing the economic and societal toll exacted by drugs and alcohol within communities. We focus on balancing the interests of businesses with those of residents. We work to influence the social, political, cultural, legal, and physical conditions that contribute to alcohol- and drug-related harms. We place an emphasis on protecting youth by reducing availability, access, and risk.
IPS established Envision Broadway in 2019 – an ongoing strategic effort to revitalize the Broadway corridor in Chula Vista, California.
The Overdose to Action Program (OD2A) utilizes IPS’s upstream approach to prevent opioid misuse in the South Bay of San Diego County.
Imperial Beach was experiencing a serious alcohol abuse problem. To address this issue, IPS partnered with law enforcement, the Responsible Hospitality Coalition and local business owners to create the Responsible Retailer Program (RRP).
South Bay Youth 4 Change (SBY4C) began in 2007 with four students who wanted to make a change in their community, and that is why the number 4 is in the title of the group, to symbolize the original four members who participated in the group.
